Great list ranking and recommendations!

Still gotta check out Oddity and The First Omen. Also I’ve yet to see any of the Hellhouse LLC franchise.

I concur with Longlegs. There was a half a good movie in there but wow that 3rd act supernatural exposition dump…I’m still an Oz Perkins skeptic.

Masterful trailer for a mediocre movie.

Not horror really but did you see Trap? It’s so deeply silly but does what Longlegs was trying to do (we never truly know our parents) so much more interestingly and was just more fun. I kinda loved it.

I did see Trap! I enjoyed it. I’m actually binging a podcast right now that is deep-diving on Shyamalan. I’ve always been a fan of Shyamalan, even when he’s not at his best, but the podcast is giving me a new appreciation for even some of his “bad” movies. It’s the “Deconstructing Shyamalan” series of the Doof Cast.

And if you like actually scary movies, both Oddity and the Hellhouse LLC franchise (especially the first and fourth movies) are excellent.

Very fair! The Sixth Sense is a classic. Probably never going to catch The Last Airbender lol.

But the real question is Lady in the Water a misunderstood yet flawed fantasy almost masterpiece? Almosterpiece?

I saw Lady in the Water about a year ago, and I remember thinking it wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be. Not the best movie ever, but he had a particular thing he was trying to do and I think he did it.

Totally agree…Sixth Sense may be his “best” but I’d put Trap and The Village ahead of it for pure enjoyment.

For me it's Signs, then The Village, then Sixth sense. But all of his movies are so good, with the exception of The Last Airbender. The Village especially is underappreciated.

Nice! I gotta check that podcast out. Never heard of it. I dig some M Night bad movies as well. I actually think The Village is one of his best though.

I do love legit scary movies so I will check these out. Will probably hold Hellhouse until spooky season hits.

I agree! The Village is number two, maybe number three for me.
